Honduras - Farokh: Photographer

Roatan is situated off the coast of Honduras. The Island is divided into English and Spanish sections. The former is very active, developed, and considered to be wealthy. The latter is very poor, run down, and depressed. These pictures were taken in 2003, around Christmas.

Farokh > The pier was being taken down in favour of a modern piece of construction. This is work in progress. Well, at least work.

Farokh > The stumps left over from the old pier. The new pier was not quite finished.

Farokh > Groves that have dried up; a sewer pipe going somewhere, and a satellite dish.

Farokh > Dilapidation and more dilapidation. And barbed wire to protect it. Though if you look carefully, you can see that the right side of the fence ends in the open, so why the barbed wire?

Farokh > Grey building everywhere, whether weathered by storms, or just the materials used. IN this case a blue chairs breaks the monotony.

Farokh > Beautiful colours, a domestic scene.

Farokh > Old lady sitting outside her daughter's house. The daughter is inside the house. Her mother (?) is sitting outside, obviously not in a ggod state. There is a babrbed wire fence in front of her. Vivid colours.

Farokh > A private moment interrupted.

Farokh > Higher than other houses which were by the water. Protected from the elements, but still using monotone colours, which make for a forbidding structure.
